The Manly Fig Cancelled
Unfortunately the Manly Fig scheduled for 10 December has been cancelled as one of the bands has had to pull out with one of their members flying to Melbourne for a personal emergency. It's not feasible to try & get a replacement when we may still have to cancel because of low numbers so we've pulled the pin.

Tales from the High Stool - 9pm.
Pádraig Ó Cuinn hosts this program on 2RRR with interviews with people involved in local & global music. Guests are invited into a virtual 'pub' to sit on 'The High Stool', & discuss music, musical influences, & whatever they like, with their virtual 'bar-person'.
This week his guest is Shay Byrne. At the age of 7 Shay received a squeezebox from Santa, & the musical journey began! A self-confessed child of the '60s he realised that girls weren't into accordions at the ripe old age of 15, so he took up the sax & a few months later joined his first showband in Ireland. He married Anne at 20, migrated to Australia as a 10-pound migrant & in 1979 was the first Secretary of Sydney's St Patrick’s day parade. Shay was involved in the first Irish Radio Show on what became SBS radio. He was also involved in Sydney’s GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) community & served as President of NSW & Australasia for a time. His Shay Down Under podcast is ten years old & is carried by six radio stations around the globe. A lot of stories & music to cover!
It’s a live chat on air and as it’s the first live in studio performance since lockdown anything could happen so it promises to be an interesting chat and performance.
Streaming live on 2RRR (88.5MHz FM). Podcasts online after each show. Send suggestions for music, suitable guest etc. to Patrick.
