Bobby Haskell: Saproxylic Sculptures
Noon- 1:30 PM

Participants will create their own sculptures of saproxylic organisms out of woodcrete to take home with them. They will learn how they can use their sculptures to protect dead trees in Philly, and how to advocate for dead wood conservation.

The Morris Arboretum has ample free parking. Accessible parking is available in the parking lot just beyond the Widener Visitor Center. In the event that the lot is full, we offer overflow parking near the entrance kiosk.

Look closely at soil and imagine what kinds of organisms call it home! Later, community-made drawings from this workshop will be animated and turned into augmented reality experiences around the city of Philadelphia so other people can learn about the ground underneath their feet.
