Hi
Some weeks (like this one), I don't create any fresh content; nothing new on the blog or the podcast and instead spend time re-reading some of my older content. There are some interesting perspectives that emerge when this happens. A few questions that arise include:
What was I going through when I wrote this piece?
How have I changed/evolved as an individual since then?
Do I still follow this strategy, years later?
The one thing I don't do: Delete the posts.
To date, I haven't deleted a single post from my blogs over the last 15 years. Over time, that's added up to over 950 posts across both blogs and my Medium blog. It's a significant reminder that it's okay to change and grow and evolve. It's why you will still find snippets of flash fiction or in-depth posts on parenting if you look for them on my blog.
And in some mysterious ways, these posts can actually lead to something unexpected years later. For instance, I wrote a post on the simple joy of living each day, about 3 years ago. In early March, it was picked up and syndicated on the website: OS.ME
Here's a gentle reminder to every single creator out there who believes that nobody is reading their posts or articles. None of it goes to waste. It's all gathering gentle steam to build up to a glorious piece of joy, perhaps years from now.
Trust the process.
