Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The Department of the Interior, Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs has issued a Dear Tribal Leader Letter announcing Tribal consultations on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Overall, the Department of the Interior received $6.6 billion from the IRA, which included $385 million in direct funding for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). IRA funds allocated to BIA will support climate resilience and adaptation ($220 million, plus $5 million for administration), fish hatchery needs ($10 million), and a new Tribal electrification program ($145.5 million, plus million $4.5 million for administration).
