Sunday For Sammy 2018
The North East's most prestigious night returns! The ‘BIG’ news is out!
Sunday for Sammy, unofficially known as the Geordie Command Performance, will return to Tyneside on Sunday 18th February 2018 - but this time at a new venue. The show, first held as a tribute to Geordie actor Sammy Johnson in 2000, has been formally presented at Newcastle City Hall and has seen demand for tickets far exceed supply. Last year, both spectacular shows sold-out in less than 24 hours and thousands of disappointed fans simply couldn't get tickets. So Sammy’s gettin’ bigger! In 2018, Sunday for Sammy will re-locate to Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena for two theatre-style performances with 5,000 tickets available for each show!
Find out more and book your tickets now!
Want to know what you've been missing? Check out performances since 2002 on DVD here each featuring two-part live Auf Wiedersehen, Pet sketches written by Ian La Frenais & Dick Clement and starring many cast members including Jimmy Nail, Kevin Whately, Tim Spall, Christopher Fairbank, Tim Healy and more!

A Tribute To Brendan Healy.
"He was witty, warm, wise, astute and hilarious. He took the light when he entered the room, and not because of his height. The tragedy of Brendan's life is that he is not still living it...."
Ian Le Frenais & Dick Clement

On the 19th February 2017 friends, family and fans joined to pay tribute to Brendan Healy - one of the North East's best loved comedians - at a packed Tyne Theatre & Opera House in Newcastle. The evening celebrated Brendan’s varied career in television, film, music, theatre and comedy; delivered in abundance from Finn Healy, Steffen Peddie and Josh Daniels who had the audience in stitches.
The incredible night was packed with some of Brendan’s favourite music from Lorraine Crosby, Jane Mackenzie, Scarlet Street, Sam Healy, Jill Halfpenny, Richard Kain, Emily Swan and our very own Tim Healy (Dennis Patterson).
Flicking through television channels the previous week, lifelong friend Tim recounted the moment he stumbled across a repeat of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet on ‘Yesterday’ starring a young Brendan Healy as avid Sunderland supporter ‘Andy’.
An overwhelming cheer from the sell-out crowd came when Tim described the moment Andy woke Oz (Jimmy Nail) on an impromptu return flight from Germany asking him to, “extinguish all cigarettes and cough up” his contribution to a whip-round for the ‘driver’.
The evening was littered with anecdotes and memories of Brendan’s life from Denise Welch (Jean), Julia Tobin (Brenda Hope) Pam Royle and Angie Lonsdale whilst heartfelt words via video link came from Billy Mitchell, Mark Knopfler, Brian Johnson and Ant & Dec wrapping the evening up before introducing headliner John Miles to the stage.
‘The Northern Brass Monkeys’ band topped off the night with ‘We’ll meet Again’ closing an incredible evening of entertainment and a fitting tribute to a local legend.
Why not check out Series 1, episode 3 for Brendan’s hilarious performance in ‘The Girls They Left Behind’.

“HOWAY KETTLE” Back By Popular Demand!
Never before have we received so many enquiries about our most popular merchandise to date …and now it’s back!
|
|
Featuring the immortal words of legendary Geordie brickie Leonard Jeffrey ‘Oz’ Osborne, “HOWAY KETTLE” has become synonymous with the stamp of a foot whilst impatiently waiting for the kettle to boil in a cold and depressing wooden hut on a building site in Dusseldorf, Germany. Fittingly, this scene appeared in fans favourite ever episode ‘Private Lives’ as voted in the Evening Chronicle in partnership with the Official Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Fansite.
Classically simple with an 80’s twist, our brand-new white gloss mug features the traditional logo to the front in red and black complete with episode name and number in type font straight out of the Admin Hut!
What’s more, our “HOWAY KETTLE” mugs are dishwasher safe and come complete in our collector’s edition presentation box; perfect as a gift for the Auf Wiedersehen, Pet fan in your life or a special treat for yourself.
Waiting for your kettle to boil will never be the same again!

Over recent weeks, we've been inundated with emails, private messages, tweets and Facebook comments and even stopped in the street regarding the current re-runs of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet on the ‘Yesterday’ channel. Whilst we know many have been thoroughly enjoying the repeats we understand some viewers have experienced frustration when classic scenes are edited, chopped or removed entirely. Whilst we apologise, this is unfortunately beyond our control.
‘Yesterday’ welcomes all feedback and we would encourage all fans of the show to express their views on the recent re-runs directly via the UKTV Contact Form here or alternatively via:

In the meantime, the Official Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Shop stocks every series unedited and in full, in addition to ‘Back with the Boys Again’ DVD featuring the 30th Anniversary Celebrations recorded at NewcastleGateshead Hilton Hotel.
