How are you doing?
Last week the second in command at the ministry of tourism here announced three pieces of good news:
1. it's no longer necessary to quarantine if you've been vaccinated or can prove recent infection
2. as a consequence, COPA will start flying daily from the US to Montevideo from next month (airlines currently flying to Uruguay)
3. the vaccine that most of us are getting here (produced by Sinovac) is going to be accepted for entry to the EU.
So the good news inspired me to re-organise and updating our Uruguay & covid section. And am looking forward to hearing if you find it more useful/clear now. Do scroll down to the end. I collected the stories of foreigners who found themselves stuck when the borders closed--it's some cool weekend reading if you want to get into the Uruguayan psyche and society from an outsider's perspective/experience.
You'll find our latest articles on wine and winter activities collected below. Have a great weekend.
