Hospice announces Moments of Light: a world premiere immersive light installation by internationally renowned artist, Bruce Munro
|
|
|
|
|
Dorothy House is honoured to announce Moments of Light, an extraordinary large‑scale three-month art installation created by internationally acclaimed light artist — and Dorothy House Ambassador — Bruce Munro.
The world premiere of this artwork will transform acres of the Hospice’s Winsley grounds from 1 October to 31 December 2026, marking the organisation’s 50th anniversary with a breathtaking immersive experience offering reflection, connection, and remembrance.
Building on the success of Bruce Munro’s transformative global light installations in Australia, Japan, USA, South Korea, many European cities, and his much‑loved permanent Firefly Woods installation at Dorothy House, Moments of Light
invites visitors to wander among thousands of illuminated forms, creating a constellation of light that will seem to breathe with the landscape.
Alongside the existing Firefly installation within the Hospice woodland, Moments of Light forms part of an evolving collaboration that uses creativity and nature to support people through grief, offering comfort and connection. By drawing on light in the dark, the installation speaks quietly of life continuing, even in moments of loss.
While tickets are free, visitors will be invited to make a suggested donation, with all proceeds helping the Hospice continue to provide free, specialist end of life care for people and their loved ones. Visitors will also have the opportunity to dedicate a light on a Firefly — a beautiful way to honour a loved one and become part of a growing constellation of remembrance.
1 October - 31 December 2026 | Dorothy House, Winsley, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, BA15 2LE

Muffaletta
If you’re considering a Bank Holiday Monday picnic in the park, by the sea or simply in your own back garden, this epic, fully-loaded sarnie is the way forward.
The Muffaletta was invented in New Orleans in the early 1900s by Sicilian baker Salvatore Lupo, who wanted to create a traditional Sicilian lunch in portable format for construction workers who frequented his bakery. Little did he know that variations on his feast-to-go would eventually become one of the most popular sandwiches across both the USA and Europe.
Charcuterie, cheese, hard boiled eggs, prawns, grilled Mediterranean vegetables, tapenade, sweet piccalilli: you can freestyle your Muffaletta according to taste, but be sure to assemble it at least an hour ahead of serving to allow all the ingredients to get fully acquainted.
