A Greek-flagged Bulk Carrier underway in the Phillip Channel, Singapore Strait, reported that up to five perpetrators armed with knives boarded the vessel.

No items were reported stolen. All crew members are accounted for and safe. The vessel is continuing its transit to its next port of call in Singapore and has not requested assistance.

There have been at least eleven similar incidents reported this year in this area. In 2023 at least 67 incidents occurred within, or near, the Singapore & Malacca Straits; most in the vicinity of Phillip Channel.
