Welcome new La Roche University students

La Roche welcomed 205 new freshmen, 142 new full time transfer students and 53 new graduate students for the fall semester.  

La Roche offers Grad School Scholarships to Pittsburgh Promise students

La Roche University, already a preferred partner of Pittsburgh Promise, will now provide additional financial assistance to Pittsburgh Promise students. The scholarships will cover 20 percent of tuition per semester for Pittsburgh Promise alumni who are pursuing graduate degrees at La Roche. Learn more

La Roche University named a best university in the north

U.S. News & World Report recently named La Roche University a Best University in the North.  La Roche also ranks 50th Among Regional Universities in the North for 2020 Top Performers on Social Mobility.  Additionally, La Roche ranks third for Regional Universities in the North with the Most International Students.  More info

Golf outing gives boost to athletics program

On September 16, over 120 golfers enjoyed a round of golf at the Annual La Roche University Golf Outing - the Scott Lang Memorial Classic, and helped raise significant support for La Roche University Athletics. Thank you to our generous sponsors, golfers, donors to the tremendous silent auction, and all who helped make this year’s outing an unprecedented success.

La Roche students live and work with Vincentian seniors

Vincentian is offering free rent for six La Roche students as part of a unique intergenerational living concept.  Students in Residence will spend at least six hours per week with residents, helping with things like technology, organizing parties or other social outings, light housework and more.   More info

Campus food pantry continues to help La Roche students

Last year, La Roche began addressing the issue of food insecurity on campus by starting a food pantry. The pantry accepts food, personal hygiene products, as well as gift cards and monetary donations. Volunteers help stock and track items donated to the pantry and assist in helping those in need who come seeking assistance. In the last year there were 51 applications for food or other resources, with 16 students using the pantry multiple times. Learn more

The ALTMAN FAMILY—Peter and Melissa and their two children, Eli and Evey—became Maryknoll lay missioners in 2013 and are now serving in El Salvador in their second contract. Pete works with internally displaced Salvadorans fleeing gang violence, and Melissa helps to create greater economic opportunities for women in a women's cooperative.
