Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
We just received the following communication from the Department of the Interior:
As you are aware, annual funding for much of the federal government expires on September 30, 2023. While we hope that negotiations will result in funding being enacted for Fiscal Year 2024, we have established contingency plans in case there is a lapse in government funding.
You may find these plans at https://www.doi.gov/shutdown.
Please join Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs Bryan Newland and Indian Affairs bureau directors for a short Tribal leader call regarding this planning. Indian Affairs leadership will discuss the implications of the potential lapse in appropriations for Indian Affairs programs and services.
