Great question!
This is becoming a recurring segment and i'm diggin it.
In fact, if you have a question you're pondering, DM me on Twitter, Message me in Telegram or send me an email and I will either follow up with you personally or possibly include it in a future newsletter.
Now, let's rephrase the question a bit.
If Bitcoin is truly finite, won't the wealthy end up owning all of the Bitcoin?
Owning Bitcoin is often analogized as owning premium real estate.
How many poor or middle class people own any premium real estate in Manhattan right?
Well, there's a key difference. Bitcoin the finite asset can be broken down into hundred millionths of units with ZERO degradation.
Think owning a single doorway in a Manhattan penthouse suite.
The financial barrier of entry to owning a Manhattan penthouse suite is much higher than owning a fraction of a Bitcoin.
The key to answering this question though comes down to one word. Savings.
Everyone understand savings.. At least the act of saving.
What everyone doesn't understand is saving currency alone is not a sufficient way to preserve wealth over time.
The Dollar, Pesos, Euros, Rupees and every other government backed currency are all designed to be inflated away.
This means that if you simply save in your native fiat currency, overtime the rich will become richer.
Instead of saving currency, the rich will use their currency to buy assets that appreciate against their governments currency.
The shift that will happen is instead of saving in fiat currency, people (poor, middle class and the wealthy) will all save in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin will appreciate against every fiat currency due to its hard scarcity and growing demand.
This change in savings medium will allow for everyone to preserve their wealth at a similar rate.
CONTROVERSIAL TAKE INCOMING
Bitcoin is not about getting rich. Bitcoin is about not becoming poor.
Having said that, we are so early in the adoption of Bitcoin that as demand grows and circulating supply shrinks, Bitcoin's price will inevitably rise dramatically over the foreseeable future.
But, the end goal is not for meteoric rises in price every cycle.
The end goal is stable continuous growth against every government controlled fiat currency.
