Call to action

Tuesday night's Council meeting is the last before the caretaker period prior to local government elections.

Several items relate to active transport - please show your support by emailing Councillors on It can be as simple as "I support the trial bicycle lanes on Elizabeth Street and Park Street".

Or even better, registering to speak in support - it occurs via video call.

Item 11.1 Elizabeth Street bicycle lane

Item 11.2 Park Street bicycle projects

Item 11.3 Community Engagement Policy and Action Plan

Item 11.5 C286 Public Open Space Contributions

  • We support the Officer recommendation for a 10.1% contribution rate applying to all subdivisions in Yarra.

11.6 Yarra Nature Strategy

  • We support the adoption of the strategy, including actions to reallocate space to grow our urban forest; and actions to reduce air pollution, such as reallocating space and budget to infrastructure that supports walking and cycling.

11.7 Integrated Water Management Plan

  • We support the adoption of the plan, including actions to close the data gaps regarding our drainage network, by investing in a best-practice geographical information system, that can also collate data on the area of public land allocated to different transport modes, open space or place making.
