Well, we managed to make it to Memorial Day Weekend. I think it happened simply by turning our backs on the calendar for five seconds and suddenly April was GONE. May is nipping at its heels. 

It does seem like it will be a wet weekend so take it easy on roads and trails - and all bodies of water. One assumes where will be some closures and some advisories. Take heed, please!

Here's the thing that made me smile this week. Because Bill and I no longer have network television I had no idea that "On the Road" was still a part of the CBS News line-up. We both adored Charles Kuralt and Charles Osgood and are delighted to know the heart-warming stories of Americans caring for each other (sometimes in quirky and startling ways) is still alive and well. 

Steve Hartman is a worthy successor to the Charleses.

If this one doesn't get you right in the feels, well, I don't know what will. 

When last we met we got through the end of May with our long look ahead, so we'll focus this week on the first weekend in June. And THAT means National Trails Day on June 7. Lots of focus on the walks (or rides) in the woods that make a PA summer! Keeping a "favorite" on our PPFF events calendar and the DCNR calendar of events ensures you don't miss anything.
