Candidates to the Board 2019-2021

Augustas Klezys NEW!

Practice area: Finance & Insurance

Career: I Joined the Sorainen partnership in 2018. Since 2013 I have been at the helm in Lithuania of the Sorainen Financial Services & Insurance sector, one of the firm’s fastest growing sectors. I have advised global financial institutions and major banks in Lithuania on many high-profile strategic transactions. My focus on the financial sector and cross-practice benefits is continuous: before joining Sorainen I headed the legal unit at one of the major banks in Lithuania.

Membership: Member of the Lithuanian Bar Association since 2011.

Education: Vilnius University, Lithuania (MA in Commercial Law)

How shall I help the BCC Lithuania to grow and prosper: Britain's future relationship with the EU remains unclear and financial institutions fear they could lose passporting rights, and hence access to a financial market across the 27 members. To hedge against this risk, many businesses are setting up licensed financial institutions in Lithuania, which has the ambition to become a global fintech hub. These newcomers could enrich current membership of BCCL both in the fields of financial services and IT/technology and also create new opportunities for current members.
