    Thought for the day

    Every Day

One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words.

    - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I like these words - they are just the thing I am writing about in these daily emails. Concentrating every day in little things that bring happiness.

    Picture of the day
Write down the positive things in your day, and let them lift your spirits
Happiness Journal / Spring Lilies of the Valley

We went for a walk by the river and saw these first lilies of the valley opening their leaves to the spring sun. There's nothing quite like the first fresh green of spring.

    Tie and hat

What did the tie say to the hat?

"You go on ahead and I'll hang around."

Do you have a funny story you would like to see published in this letter? An event, what someone said? If so, send me your funny story in an email

(I especially love the funny things children say!).

My email  for this is daily email is

    Today's Happiness

    When words flow

I have been stressed with the study assignments I need to return mid-May. The dissertation proposal to my MA in Egyptology studies and on top of that one essay, one poster and one museum catalogue. The poster and the catalogue were more or less done, but the essay and the proposal. I took two weeks off work to write them and expected the writing part of each to take days. And what happened? I wrote the first draft of the essay in 7 hours in one day. And the dissertation proposal was more or less done in two days. Now all I need to do is to tweak them. Such a relief when I know I have plenty of time. (And the picture is a digital painting of Tutankhamun's golden mask I painted).

What made you happy today? Send a note and tell, if you wish to share your little happy moment with others.
