Set to take place in Portorož, Slovenia on 15-17 November 2021, the SME Assembly will be one of the first major European Commission conferences to be held in person post-COVID, subject to very strict rules for those attending. ASSEMBLY 2021: Join one of the first EC conferences to be held in person since Covid-19
The SME Assembly will also be available to follow online as sessions will be streamed live and made available on-demand later on. Click here to register, it will only take a moment!
Online attendees will be able to enjoy the virtual experience facilitated by an online host and participatory sessions, enabling active participation even for those who are not on-site.
For those attending in person, there is strict COVID protocol coordinated by the European Commission and the Slovenian Presidency that ensures the health and safety of SME Assembly delegates and participants
Schumpeter 'Innovation in Enterprise' Lecture to be Delivered by Professor Lučka Kajfež Bogataj
Schumpeter' Innovation in Enterprise' Lecture commemorates one of the twentieth century's most celebrated economists. It provides an opportunity for twenty-first-century economists of equal distinction to discuss their economic thinking and ideas that can help grow a culture of enterprise, keeping in mind Professor Schumpeter's belief that "the entrepreneur is the pivot on which everything turns."
This year the Schumpeter's lecture will be delivered by Professor Lučka Kajfež Bogataj – the joint recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 and a member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change at the United Nations.
YEC 2021 – Meet the Youth Essay Competition 2021 Finalists
The Youth Essay Competition jury met and selected the top 3 candidates who will compete during the SME Assembly 2021. We are happy to present the shortlisted entries of Kristina Dimova, Rui Teixeira and Victoria Krah
The three finalists will present their essay during a special ceremony at the SME Assembly, after which the audience will vote on the winning essay
