Do you remember what book initially piqued your interest in reading? Paranormal mysteries have always been a favorite genre. As a kid, I used to get a Scooby-Doo book from the library, and I re-read the Bunnicula books so many times!

What is the first book that made you cry? To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

What is the first book that made you laugh out loud? One of the Bunnicula books, for sure! I especially love The Celery Stalks at Midnight!

What’s one book you feel is deeply underrated? And why do you love it so much?
I read Ray Bradbury's The Halloween Tree every October. The book is written for tweens, but the descriptions absolutely transport me to a Halloween world--where I would happily live!

Do you listen to music when you read? If so, do you have a playlist? Spooky books go great with the atmospheric music of Midnight Syndicate! If you've ever visited a haunted house attraction, you've probably heard their music. When I mention "spooky orchestral music" in my description of Nightmare Sanctuary Haunted House (from my Nightmare, Arizona paranormal cozy mysteries), it's a nod to Midnight Syndicate.

If you could go to any place you’ve read about in a book (real or imagined), where would you go? I would go to Rivendell in Middle-earth. Of all the places in The Lord of the Rings, that's where I most want to go on holiday!

What book are you currently reading? I'm actually reading a German cozy mystery! Mord in der Uckermark (Murder in the Uckermark) by David Safier. It's the first book in the Miss Merkel series, which imagines Angela Merkel as an amateur sleuth after her retirement from German politics.
