New AAMT CEO

It is with great pleasure that the AAMT President and Council announce the appointment of Dr Duncan Rayner as the new Chief Executive Officer of AAMT. Duncan will take up the position in July 2018. He was most recently Faculty General Manager, Faculty of Science and Engineering at Flinders University and is currently undertaking some independent consulting work. From 2009–2011 he was Regional Manager for Southeast Asia for Cambridge Assessment (Cambridge University). Duncan majored in pure and applied mathematics in his first degree and his PhD is in the field of physics.

NMSS Director

The National Mathematics Summer School is conducted by AAMT and ANU and is looking to appoint a Director for the schools in January 2019, 2020 and 2021 (i.e. three years). It is an honorary, part-time position that will appeal to mathematics professionals who wish to contribute by fostering the talents of some of our brightest young mathematicians. AAMT office closure

The AAMT office will be closed for the festive season from midday 21 December 2017 until 2 January 2018. The AAMT Council and staff wish all members of the mathematics education community a very happy and relaxing holiday period.
