The 18th
Adaption to Technical & Scientific Progress (ATP) was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on Tuesday 3rd May.
This is the procedure by which new harmonized classifications for substances are introduced into EU law.
This 18th
ATP covers all the ECHA Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) Opinions published during 2020.
The Entry into Force for this ATP is 23rd May 2022, with the end of the 18-month transition period / date of full application thus being 23rd
November 2023.

New harmonized classifications for substances used in our industry covered by this ATP include the following (please see the annex for full details):
- 2-butoxyethanol / butyl cellosolve
- 2-ethylhexanoic acid and its salts
- Benzophenone
- TMPTA
- DEGME
- Bisphenol A
- Melamine
- m-XDI and m-TMXDI
- Sodium Pyrithione
- Dibutyl tin di(acetate)
- Cumene
