Regards from Shohimardan, the impossible-to-get-to mountainous exclave of Uzbekistan surrounded by Kyrgyzstan. We have been reliably told that we are the first foreigners to come here in the past 25 years. And what a group we are - many different nationalities, travel styles and ages all fully represented in the colours of NomadMania.
This is the culmination of the 5th NomadMania Conference which has just taken place in Fergana, Uzbekistan.
With the theme of fixers discussed, the Khanabad dam visited (also for the first time by foreigners) and three sold-out flights on the Antonov-2 to the other Uzbek exclave, Sokh, successfully operated, we are all feeling quite dizzy with excitement and a feeling of camaraderie. Oh, let's not forget the crazy pool party!
