Winter Sports Safety
Beyond camping, a number of cold-weather activities present challenges to Scouts and leaders, such as alpine or cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledding, ice fishing, and snowshoeing. Essential ingredients for fun include skill training and an awareness of the hazards unique to these activities.

9:30am-12:30pm: Aviation Merit Badge Workshop (Includes a brief snack break)
12:30pm-3:00pm: Merit Badge Testing Appointments & Scavenger Hunts (Scouts will be free to depart with their Blue Card after completing the Scavenger Hunt and the Merit Badge Testing Appointment. Families may wish to bring a brown bag lunch for the afternoon session.)

Camp Mattatuck and Camp Kinda-Like-A is offering programs for all Scouts and potential Scouts the week of December 27th. They have programs for Cubs, Scouts BSA, in-person, virtual, and for friends and family. Find out more for each event by clicking the buttons below.
Come out and enjoy the first day of 2022 with a hike outdoors at JNW. Meet at the Main Parking Lot for an approx 3-mile hike. Wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes and bring some water. This is a COVID-19 compliant event. Social Distancing is required and you should have a mask if indoors. Please RSVP so we can monitor numbers to remain compliant. Here in the Connecticut Rivers Council we are preparing to send a contingent down to the Summit for the 2023 National Jamboree. First on our list is to identify qualitfied leaders. Below is a leader intrest survey for those adults who may want to serve as a leaders for our CRC contigent.
Notice on office closures. The Council Service Center and Scoutshop will closed Friday, December 24th through Sunday, January 2nd. Both will return to nomal hours of operation on Monday, Jan 3rd.
Dues for the 2022 year will be do soon. We have developed an online payment option that can be found on the lodges page on the Council's website. Click Pay my dues button below to get there.
