Dear Southwest Region Conference Family:

What an English Camp Meeting we had! The preaching, teaching, workshops, music, prayer time, food, fellowship, recreation, opening of the new chapel and mini lodge, awards ceremony, Pathfinder parade and camporee, fireworks, 45^th anniversary celebration of owning Lone Star Camp, and most importantly, the baptism of 25 individuals, were all a blessing! Praise God and thank each of you for your prayers, attendance, and support! We also praise God and thank you for your financial gifts enabling us to raise over $100,000 (not including pledges) in our special Sabbath offering to “Move Southwest ‘4’ Ward” (Evangelism, Adventist Education, Digital/Media Ministry, and Youth/Young Adult Ministry)!

A special thank you is extended to all conference workers and staff members for the sacrifices they made to facilitate camp meeting and to service our constituents! We thank you!

Summer Evangelism

As the summer has begun, we now focus our attention on the multiple public evangelism initiatives that will take place across our Conference territory. Oklahoma City, OK has been selected by the Southwestern Union Conference as the city of emphasis for evangelism in 2024 in our Union territory. Given this, our conference evangelistic team is currently in Oklahoma City canvassing the area and soliciting Bible Studies among area residents. Beginning July 13, and continuing through July 27, yours truly, Dr. Carlton P. Byrd, will be the evangelist for our 2024 Summer “Good News” Revival” and the preaching portion of the revival will commence. Please begin now praying for this conference evangelistic campaign, coupled with those local church campaigns that will be commencing across our conference.

Believe The Promise International Camporee

Later this summer (August 5-11), the International Pathfinder Camporee will take place in Gillette, WY! We’re pleased to announce that 1,000 Pathfinders from the Southwest Region Conference will attend this life-changing experience! Thank you in advance for your prayerful support to our Conference Pathfinder Clubs

Adventist Education

During the summer months, many parents make decisions regarding where they will enroll their children for the upcoming academic school year, 2024-2025. I would like to appeal to you to consider enrolling your child(ren) in one of our eight schools. We’re praying for a great school year, and seeking ways to make Adventist Education affordable for all. For instance, at Southwest Adventist Junior Academy in Dallas, TX, through special donors and local church giving, tuition discounts will be applied to every enrolled student enabling tuition to be only $100.00 (minimum) monthly! In all of our Texas schools, our Education Department is working very hard to solidify funding for a collective hot lunch program! In our Arkansas and Louisiana schools, each school is the recipient of tuition funding from state funded programs! For more information, please call our Conference Office at 214.943.4491.

Reaching Our Goal

As stated at our English Camp Meeting, we have set as a goal to raise $450,000.00 in “Moving Southwest ‘4’ Ward” funds in 2024 to commemorate our 45^th Anniversary at Lone Star Camp. These funds will go to support evangelism, Adventist education, digital and media ministry, youth and young adult ministry, and continued development at Lone Star Camp. We praise God for the development that is taking place at Lone Star Camp, but additional housing, renovation of existing buildings, and other upgrades are all still needed.

With 450 donors (giving units) at $1,000 each, or 900 donors (giving units) at $500.00 each, our goal can be reached! We got off to a great start at Camp Meeting in setting out to reach this goal, but it’s not too late for you to be a part of this collective conference effort. Large or small, we can all do something! In the name of Jesus and for His glory, let’s do it!
