Christmas Play Needs Christmas Trees!

Please be on the lookout for Christmas trees of ALL shapes and sizes; we will need LOTS of trees for this year's play!

They don't have to be purchased new, (unless you would like to donate them) but if you bring one to loan us, please make sure that your name is on it, and we will return it to you ASAP afterwards.

(NOTE: 3 foot minimum size)

As always, thank you so much for contributing to Children's Ministries!

Community Thanksgiving Meal 2019

Our church will, for the 5th year, co-sponsor a lunchtime Thanksgiving meal for the Jacksonville community. We will team with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. We will probably deliver around 300 meals and serve about 150 meals at St. Luke’s. To do this we need your help.

We need:

· Monetary donations which will pay for our portion of the food supplies needed. Checks can be made payable to JFUMC, and in the memo line write Thanksgiving Meal.

· Cooked and deboned roasted turkeys delivered to St. Luke’s. (call St. Luke’s to sign up.)

· Cakes & pies delivered to St. Luke’s, sliced and ready to serve.

· Volunteers: Servers, meal delivery, greeters, and clean up. (Call St. Luke’s to sign up.)

If you plan to help and haven't called to sign up, please do so. TODAY is the time to take action!  It's OK to leave a voicemail with your contact info.

There are so many folks who are generous to help out, but it sure is nice to know a few days ahead. Thanks!

St. Luke’s: open 9 am - 2 pm, Monday-Thursday:

Thankful, Grateful & Blessed...

I am so excited to announce that the Kids 1st Art Gala was a huge success!!!! Many of you came and made bids on pieces of art. Thanks to all of the support we received from our church family, our Kids 1st family, and the community I am pleased to tell you all that we surpassed our original goal. We were hoping to be able to purchase 10 baby dolls and 10 stuffed animals for the Alzheimer’s patients at Jacksonville Health and Rehab.

Due to the generosity of everyone who attended the gala, we were able to purchase 10 baby dolls (each with a milk and juice bottle), 11 stuffed animals, 2 activity aprons, and 6 activity lap blankets. My heart is overjoyed to be able to provide these resources for these patients. I know they will get so much joy out of them, and their care takers will be thankful as well. All of us at Kids 1st had so much fun creating these pieces of art.

For a while now I have been searching for a way to get the kids actually involved in a fundraiser, not just collecting money or selling things. They took such pride and ownership in this art gala. I think it was because they knew what we were raising money for. Your support allowed them to be an active part of this mission. It also helped show them how to be the hands and feet of Christ. It is because of all of these things that I am truly thankful, grateful, and blessed!!!!!

Mrs. Jennifer
