Tell us something fun about yourself.
Born in the Netherlands, and now live in Estonia. I was on a tour in Estonia and missed the bus back home to the Netherlands. I have been living in Estonia happily for 10 years now ;)
What book, podcast, or influencer do you recommend checking out?
Tips for Work and Life from Andrew LaCivita. Great podcast from an energetic host full of great useable tips on how to get better at your job or job search.
What is the one tech tool you can't live without?
Churnzero. This is my end-all-be-all tool for all my actions, risks, and dashboards. It saves me on average 20 minutes of prep time per meeting because all of the info is in a single overview.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell yourself as a new CSM?
Be patient and always try to see the other person's view especially when they are challenging you.
How can those looking to break into CS get started?
I'd highly recommend taking the Success Coaching course, it's less than $100 USD and will equip you with the important basics.
Whatβs something you recently learned the hard way?
You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't force it to drink. Some customers will churn seemingly no matter how much effort you put into working with them. Some colleagues will never ever like you or like to work with you. It is best to face that reality and make the best of it, rather than over-focus on the things you have no control over.
