Vol. 14, September 2025

The fall study abroad semester is well underway with all three programs now traveling the globe. This month, HUE continued its tour of Europe, while HUA headed down under for Australia and New Zealand. And HUF began their semester by starting somewhere new. Keep reading to learn more about each program’s itinerary from September.

It's not just overseas where the excitement is happening – we've been busy on the Searcy campus too! Scroll to the bottom to learn about this month's breakout chapel, our new partnership with Bison Hospitality in the Caf, our tailgate tent at football games, and the announcement of new study abroad buttons!

HUE

Harding University in Europe

September took the HUE group to three countries with the chance for even more at the end! The group began the month having just arrived at the HUF villa in Florence, Italy. They spent about two weeks exploring Florence and the surrounding highlights. From there, they flew to Iceland, where the group admired the country's unique glaciers, waterfalls, black sand beaches and more. Next came France, with visits to Normandy and Paris. Afterward, students enjoyed a few days of independent travel before reconvening at their next group location. Check back next month to see where the program resumed.

HUA

Harding University in Australasia

The HUA program kicked off in Sydney, Australia on Friday, September 12th. The first two weeks of the program consisted of tours in Sydney, Cairns, and Brisbane. They toured the Sydney Opera House, interacted with Australian wildlife, snorkeled at the Great Barrier Reef, and so much more. Next, they flew to New Zealand, where one of their first stops was the Hobbit village from The Lord of the Rings films. That was only the beginning of their time in New Zealand. Check back next month to see the other stunning places in New Zealand that they will explore before heading on to Asia.

HUF

Harding University in Florence

The Fall HUF program departed the US on September 16th and took a new approach by starting its semester in Greece. The group spent their first week living the life of a HUG student. They stayed at the HUG campus and explored Athens, Corinth, and Sounion. After their Greek excursion, the group arrived at their home in Florence on September 24th. Since then, they've been settling into Villa life, attending classes, and exploring Florence.

International Programs Breakout Chapel

On Tuesday, September 16th, we hosted our second of four breakout chapels this semester for students who studied abroad in the spring and summer. Anna Yingling from the Center for Professional Excellence (and a HUG alumna) shared thoughts on connecting study abroad experiences with career paths. She also discussed resume and interview tips to help students tell their story.

Study Abroad featured in the Caf

Missing the taste of your abroad program? This year, you can enjoy food from each of our six semester-long study abroad locations, courtesy of Bison Hospitality in the Caf.

On Thursday, September 4th, we kicked off this year-long program with HUF. The Caf had a line serving cheese tortellini with marinara, garlic breadsticks, and hand-dipped almond biscotti, and our office was there to answer any questions about studying abroad.

Our next day in the Caf is Thursday, October 2nd, where food from HUE will be featured. Be sure to stop by and enjoy a delicious meal and learn more about studying abroad!
