Folk by the Sea is on this weekend
22 acts, 2 days, 5 venues - 50 concerts!
Judy Small heads the stellar line-up at this year's festival in beautiful Kiama. Australia’s own “Judge Judy” is a national treasure. The multi-award-winning singer-songwriter had to give up her celebrated international career when she became a Family Court Judge in 2013. Judy retired from the Court in 2020 and is back playing her full repertoire.
Also featuring at the festival is Irish-Australian singer-songwriter Enda Kenny and onen of Australia's leading Indigenous performers, Shellie Morris.

Irish Film Festival
The following three music documentaries will be available for viewing onlne from this Friday:
Steps of Freedom is about the history of Irish dance. It features some great music from box player Cormac Begley.
Love Yourself Today is a doco about Irish singer Damien Dempsey.
Breaking Out is about Irish singer Fergus O’Farrell. This film is part of our online festival.

Albi and the Wolves (NZ) - 8pm
Albi & The Wolves have explored the world together. They've toured festivals and venues throughout America, Australia and of course their home territory of New Zealand. In 2018 these three lupine compadres were excited and honoured to receive the Best Folk Artist 2018 TUI at the New Zealand Music Awards for their debut album One Eye Open! All three musicians are powerful and compelling performers in their own right. But when they come together, they create something larger than any individual, something incredible, a must to see.

Mara! Big Band - 4pm
The Mara! Big Band project is the brainchild and long held dream of Mara Kiek, to create a bigger version of her ground-breaking Mara! band, featuring the cream of Australia’s jazz and world music illuminati.
With support from CreateNSW, Mara commissioned 5 composers to create an original suite of music for the new Mara! Big Band ensemble, setting poetry by Australian migrant and refugee poets, with stories of displacement, hope, longing, despair and resignation in search for a dream - a new life in the ‘lucky country’.
To the Mara! band’s all-star line-up - Sandy Evans, Paul Cutlan, Lloyd Swanton, Llew Kiek and Mara Kiek – are added Andrew Robson, James Greening, Sam Golding, Gary Daley, Tunji Beier and singers Silvia Entcheva and Jarnie Birmingham.

Coomba All Stars - Coomba (Santur) has teamed up with Rendra Freestone (Bass) and Tim Bradley (Kit) in a new project bringing the old world sonic architecture and movement of Near East thought and Aryavarta musical philosophies into the stylings of modern culture.
Felicity Dowd - NSW Folk Federation Young Folk Artist of the Year (2020) and graduate of the renowned Talent Development Project, Felicity Dowd is a passionate singer-songwriter and storyteller who uses her acoustic performances to tell stories that intertwine the experiences of the world around her, portraying them through a youthful contemporary lens.
Sky Juice - Alby Gibson-Healey and Matthew Trapnell (Trapazoid) are the Sky Juice duo, an acoustic outfit from the creative breeding ground of Scotland Island located within Sydney’s Northern Beaches. They both believe growing up in this artistic community has helped shape their sound.

That´s right! Currently in the country-and loving it! Deta C. Judy Small - 6pm
Australia's 'Grande Dame of Australian Folk Music' Judy Small is back touring following her 10 year stint as a Judge with the Federal Circuit Court of Australia. She is known for her feminist, and political songs, usually following a traditional theme. She produced twelve albums, hundreds of songs and has been described as being among the most popular political singers in Australia.
She enjoys singing about real people and issues, stating "If an audience comes away thinking about issues it is a worthwhile performance".
