For Connor Shaw, newly baptized from St. Martha's, Lethbridge, the Catholic Church was always in the background, "My grandparents were regular parishoners and my father, though lapsed in his own faith, made reference to the Church as a moral framework," he shared.

Diocesan-Wide Pastoral Renewal Survey
Bishop McGrattan convened a meeting with clergy, parish staff, and Parish Renewal Team chairs to share information regarding the forthcoming Diocesan-wide Pastoral Renewal Survey. The survey will be conducted during all weekend Masses on June 1 and June 2 across every parish. Key details of the survey are outlined below. Additional information will be provided in your parish bulletin this weekend.
- Purpose: The survey serves as a crucial step in our journey of renewal, aiming to gain insights into our current pastoral reality and recognize the active presence of the Lord in our lives and parishes.
- Content: Feedback sought in the survey aligns with the model of parish life that authentically responds to the nature of the Christian community and addresses the specific needs of our Church today, particularly focusing on the three areas of diocesan pastoral priority: formation, community, and family. Specific areas of inquiry include parishioners' demographics, faith practices, and experiences within the parish.
- Participation: The survey is open to all parishioners aged 18 years or older within the Diocese, and participation is entirely voluntary. Parishioners can complete the survey in-pew using their parish-specific URL or QR code. A paper option is also available.
- Time: All parishes will conduct the survey during the weekend Masses of June 1 and June 2. Additionally, the survey link will be accessible on parish websites and social media platforms from June 1 to June 14.
- Benefit: Each parish will receive a generated report and analysis containing crucial insights for their parish community. These findings will aid parish leadership and renewal teams in their pastoral renewal planning in the fall of 2024.
