The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported that the Panama-flagged Tanker CORDELLA MOON (IMO: 9297888) was attacked approximately 64NM northwest of Hodeidah, Yemen.
There were four aerial projectile attacks, the first at 21:25 UTC on 30th September, followed by another at 22:25 UTC. The next attack occurred at 01:40 UTC, with the fourth at 02:53 UTC.
Each attack resulted in splashes and explosions near the Tanker, the closest being within 5 meters. At 05:00 UTC, the Master reported that the vessel was hit by an Unmanned Surface Vessel, puncturing the number 6 port ballast tank. Despite this, the vessel is continuing to its next port of call. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
All vessels in the area are advised to proceed with caution and to report any suspicious activities to the UKMTO.
