Shalva Natelashvili, Labor Party: “This bandit, an expert in own goals, [Tbilisi Mayor Kakha] Kaladze did not even demand one storey in exchange for a construction permit to build a residential house, which is their own business and where mainly Iranians and Arabs are buying apartments, in order to give apartments to homeless people, not with the ownership right, but temporarily, until they bring up their children there.”

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, February 23
Vazha Otarashvili, Alliance of Patriots: “The government is obliged… to raise this particular issue with Azerbaijan, even if it becomes necessary to interchange the territories; and Azerbaijan, a Muslim state, which emerged few centuries ago, should not dare to do it; Azerbaijan actually did not exist; only Aderbile Khanate existed… Due to their genetics, even a dog could not recognize the owner …They were named as Azerbaijan only few centuries ago and this [David Gareji] is an ancient Christian monument, existing since the period of the Assyrian Fathers…. Azerbaijan actually did not exist in the 6th century. Now, when they are claiming that Albanians are their ancestors, Albanians were Christians, who, by the way, were destructed by these infidels and Armenians have also contributed to their destruction; I mean the destruction of Albanians.”

Georgia and World, February 12
Beso Barbakadze, journalist: “Georgian man [Mikheil Khubutia] says: I have bought 80 hectares of land, because I want to grow vine, make wine and have a small business. The opposition rushed at him, saying: How did you dare to buy land in Georgia? So, they rushed at Georgian, instead of Indian. It appears that it is a crime for Georgian to buy land in Georgia and do business; but if a foreign national does the same, it is good. Be sure that not few Georgians living in Russia have bought lands in Georgia and do you know how we should act? Let’s create a movement and seize lands from Soso Pavliashvili, Valeri Meladze, Zurab Tsereteli and other famous or non-famous Georgians and give these lands to Pakistanis, Indians, Iranians and Chinese. China is facing a virus outbreak; so, let’s offer it a helping hand; let’s settle them down in Georgia and expel Georgians. We are a hospitable nation; our country is not the country, but rather a passageway and let’s destruct it to the end.”

Zviad Tomaradze, Nation and State: “We know that we are facing demographic problems; in addition, the majority of our population has emigrated abroad and the process is still underway. Mass arrivals of foreign nationals in our country would cause significant changes to ethno-cultural balance in our country and if it continues, we, the indigenous population, will remain in the minority. Obviously, it is a matter of our country’s security. We should address this issue considering our state interests.”

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, February 29
Academician Lado Papava: “Let’s imagine the current situation in Georgia in terms of people arriving from Iran; naturally, it will be decreased [amid coronavirus outbreak]. So, it may not be bad for Georgia’s perspective. I mean the issues related to Georgian lands… Even a small trend is not bad for our country, because the issue has not been solved so far…”

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, February 22
Gigi Maglakelidze, Alliance of Patriots of Georgia: “There is a huge threat of Turkey’s creeping expansion; Turkey is becoming very dangerous due to its actions. It does not even observe international law; it only recognizes a forceful method and actually a NATO member state is carrying out military operations on the territory of another country. Now, where I see the threat – how Turkey acts in respect of Syria – and no matter whether Syria has a bad or good leader, it is the territory recognized by the United Nations and it is a recognized state… If something happens in Georgia in respect of Turkey, if its creeping expansion is hampered or if it finds any reason, it will carry out the same operations here… Our government and our country are facing very serious challenges; the government needs to take preventive measures and protect the country against this serious creeping occupation.”

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, February 8
Gia Areshidze, host: “…Turkey wants to come closer to us, no matter what we will be called, if you are integrated in the Soviet Union, you will be called Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic, and if we still join NATO and come closer to it so that to live under a common cover … You all know the current situation in Adjara, as well as the territorial claims Turkey has towards us…”

Georgia and World, February 27
Beso Barbakadze, journalist: “The government hopes that Turkey is a kindhearted neighbor and it will fulfill the commitments under the Treaty of Kars. Nobody remembers that just this kindhearted neighbor intended to swallow Georgia a century ago and it only stopped for fear of Russia. The fact that the Treaty of Kars allegedly says nothing about the year 2021 does not mean that Turkey will not try to violate it, because top Turkish officials have already hinted about it on multiple occasions. They made it clear that in 2021 this treaty should be revised; informally, they have already bought half of Adjara and now they will try to formalize it. Now a certain Georgian official will come out and say that we are a sovereign state and they will not dare to do it. But they dared to seize David Gareji Monastery even without firing a shot. The commission studying this issue gathered only once and achieved no results.

Obieqtivi, Namdvili Ambebi, February 13
Tengiz Tavdgiridze, member of public movement Chokhosnebi: “If a mosque needs to be built, Batumi residents should be interviewed about it; if they decide that a new mosque is needed in Batumi, then a new mosque will be built; if not, only one or two persons should not solve this issue, especially through the efforts of Tariel Nakaidze. We know that Fethullah Gülen and the Turkish state are behind these efforts…”

Discrimination on religious grounds

Asaval-Dasavali, February 10-16
Editorial board: “A newspaper Megapolis Express reports that on Kamchatka, specially selected followers of Jehovah’s Witnesses are engaged in prostitution or matchmaking in order to replenish their funds. Kamchatka-based medical doctors suppose that followers of this sect are seriously contributing to the spread of venereal diseases – many sailors who have returned from their trips appear in venereal diseases clinics just after having an intercourse with the members of Jehovah’s sect.”

Georgia and World, February 20
Anzor Totadze, demographist: “Following the occupation of Abkhazia and Shida Kartli, Georgia’s territory is 5,600,000 ha. 32,000 ha have already been sold and 5,568,000 ha have remained for sale. Now, imagine that the land has not been sold to foreigners and instead leased for a term of 49 years. Each Muslim man has at least four wives. During half a century, one Muslim man may have 200 children; after becoming adults, the latter may also have at least four children per year and so on. According to paragraph “c”, article 10, chapter II of the Civil Code of Georgia, a person born in the family of non-citizens on the territory of Georgia will be granted Georgian citizenship upon birth. It means that so many Muslin children born on the territory of Georgia will become Georgian citizens and buy our lands. Probably, after half a century, most of Georgian citizens will be ethnic Muslims and we will need a candle to find Georgians.”

Marshalpress, February 4
Giorgi Gabidauri, former Jehovah’s Witness: “Here I have [a photo of] their congress hall, which has a masonic form, look at it … I have various photos, which will be uploaded in the comments and these photos were Satanist photos for me, because they included furtive signs in these photos and you will see them.” Facebook

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, February 21
Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi, Alliance of Patriots: “The entire National Movement consists of people who are absolutely unwanted. They are still doing their utmost to stay in power and do you know why? Because they want to stage a gay revolution, for example.”

Asaval-Dasavali, February 3-9
Giorgi Gigauri, journalist: “[Opposition] preferred modest “Girchi-Brothel” to “prestigious Bassiani! Now, judge yourself, what should the dedicated voters think of Giga Bokeria staying in the arms of this mob of pederasts?! And what if he is the committed supporter of gay pride parades? At this stage, he is ashamed of participating in gay orgies.”

Georgia and World, February 12
Davit Mkheidze, author: “Orthodoxy does not mean only rejection of LGBT people, does not it? It protects moral values established centuries ago. Thus, how can you talk about cultural mankind, when a man claims to be a woman and a woman says that she is a man?! Or maybe, “cultural mankind” is where a mother and a father are called “parent No. 1” and “parent No. 2”?! Or maybe the question is about those traditional confessions, whose followers have already blessed the same-sex couples in some countries (Sweden, Norway, Scotland, etc.)?! As far as Vatican is concerned, which burned alive hundreds of thousands of “sinners” for rejecting the so called heresy, or Papism, the leader of Catholics is still twittering so as one would think he is our Public Defender Nino Lomjaria rather than the Pope… The church, apparently, has no right to judge LGBT people, because we all are equal before God. So, no comments here.”

Sakinformi, February 18
Arno Khidirbegishvili, editor-in-chief of Sakinformi: “The issue that there should not be parent No. 1 and parent No. 2 either in Russia, or in Georgia and any Orthodox country, does not require any additional comments and interpretations, because Orthodoxy is the state religion in both Georgia and Russia and this religion bans same-sex marriage. I am sure that it will never happen in Russia until Putin is alive and also under the rule of any future president after 10, 20, 30 or 100 years.”

Marshalpress, February 2
Ketevan Kiknadze, actress: “I have irritated some people. Now, let me ask you, why not you get irritated, when Lomjaria is preaching about same-sex marriage, when sexual education is planned to be introduced at schools, I do not want to continue; does not it irritate you, Lomjaria’s defenders? This has not been taught since Adam and Eve, but the humankind has reached 8 billion. Wish you to reproduce.” Social network

Asaval-Dasavali, February 10-16
Irakli Berdzenishvili, leader of the Berdzenishvili Family: “By decision of the Elders of our Family, we have ostracized Davit and Levan Berdzenishvili! Yes, the Family has excommunicated these godless LGBT brothers! When Davit Berdzenishvili was shouting at the rally of the National Movement on Rustaveli Avenue that Georgia is the country of sexual minorities, by this he expressed solidarity to his chicken son, Zuka! When your son turns into daughter, what else should you say? I have two sons and I will sacrifice myself, if anyone tries to make them look like LGBT Zuka!”

Anti-Western sentiments

Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi, Alliance of Patriots: “[in Russian] Norway, Sweden, mainly Scandinavian countries, but not only, Holland, by the way, are spending comparatively less, several hundreds of millions of USD on propagandizing, lobbying pederasty, lesbianism, homosexuality in the United States; so, they spend 100, 200 million and then the United States allocates billions from its budget on propagandizing this abomination worldwide… Today there are some people, for example, George Soros, who can stage a revolution in a small country, like Georgia. A person, who has 10 billion, 20 billion, can exert influence on the countries, like Georgia. We should understand that there are people today, for example, a certain pederast, who has 10 billion and spends money for propagandizing pederasty worldwide.”

Obieqtivi, Gamis Studia, February 7
Jondi Bagaturia, Georgian Troupe: “When you withdraw serfdom relations [Congressman Kinzinger], when you demand a share in someone’s petrol business and I will do you the main thing – I will let homosexuals seat on the neck of the nation… I will introduce a lot of misfortunes at schools and sell the country if only you give me time…”

Georgia and World, February 12
Editorial Board: “Universal Homosexuality in Ukraine’s Armed Forces – a year has passed since online portal “Ukraine’s Gay Alliance” moved from covering the issues of restriction-intimidation of people confused about their sexual orientation to publishing heroic-patriotic news. Of course, main characters are pederasts: it is widely known that Ukraine is a European country and its outward attributes are relevant to its status. It does not mean good roads and high social support, but rather pederasts, or LGBT community, if speaking in the language of progress. The representatives of this community, as we have long been assured, have been integrated “into the strongest European army,” and not only integrated, but they “heroically” perform their civic duties on the front.”

Georgia and World, February 12
Davit Mkheidze, author: “I remember several years ago, when liberast journalists asked provocative questions (about why LGBT people were oppressed in Russia, or why the country bans gay pride parades or same-sex marriage) during Vladimir Putin’s visit to Finland, he focused on the existence of successful gay people in the sphere of culture and noted that these people did not demand holding of pride parades and nobody bursts into their bedrooms or gay clubs, so they can do whatever they want. As for same-sex marriage, the Russian President categorically rejected this issue: If I arrive in any city of Chechnya or Siberia and start talking about legalization of same-sex marriage, can you imagine what will happen? Putin himself answered the question and - let Russophobes forgive me, but I will present the answer to the readers of Georgia and World in the original - “Да они же за оружие возмутся!” (They will take up arms). So, the Russian “muzhik” President answered so mannishly to liberast journalists. There is nothing new in the above mentioned – the struggle of the world neo-liberals against Orthodox Christianity, the religion, which has been erected as an unconquerable bastion on the path of total LGBTization of the world. The struggle against Orthodoxy is the struggle against Russia, because Russia is the most powerful Orthodox Empire, i.e. “the third Rome” protecting Orthodoxy and the struggle against it equals to the struggle against Orthodoxy.”

Asaval-Dasavali, February 10-16
Nikoloz Mzhavanadze, Rights’ Defenders Union: “It is known to everyone that visa liberalisation has emptied Georgia of Georgians. According to unofficial data, in Georgia, 134,000 apartments belong to Iranians; moreover, a residential building was built in Saburtalo district, which is completely owned by an Arab Sheikh! NATO has developed Turkey and took people out of mud-huts, but did it build at least one factory in our country? The only thing they are “doing successfully” is “gayfication” of Georgian nation…. . Like betrayer Sergo Orjonikidze reported to Lenin and Stalin that ‘The Red Flag of Soviet Power Flies over Tiflis’, Saakashvili and Zhania similarly reported to the West following the Rose Revolution ‘The Blue Flag Flies over Tbilisi! The same tendency and course still continues… I call on the United States to ensure that the United Nations include us in the list of dying nations and allocate grants and tranches not to gays and Conchitas, but rather for saving Georgian people, who should reproduce the nation!”

Gender stereotypes

Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian Dream: “They are desperate National housewives [referring to female lawmakers of the United National Movement], who entered the Parliament chamber for the second time. It was hardly imaginable that they would have masterminded something worse than their previous toxic attack. But they managed to do it. I already said in the chamber and I will reiterate that there is no place in the Georgian Parliament for those people, who keep the Soviet Union and Russian anthem in their hands and hearts. The National Movement is the last leftover of the Soviet Union in Georgia with its values. They once again reminded us of it. I saw there Elene Khoshtaria and Irma Nadirashvili.”
