Question: are you enjoying the 'three things I liked this month' in my newsletter? They're really fun to write, so I'll probably keep doing them no matter what, but I love feedback either way.
Anyway: three things I liked this month!
Hannibal on Hulu
VERY BIG CAVEAT: I'm only on the second season, so I might hate it by the end!
That said, I surprised myself this month by enjoying the hell out of the T.V. show Hannibal, which is about pre-Silence of the Lambs Hannibal Lecter. It's scary and gory, which I don't usually like, but it's also very weird in a way I really love. Plus, it's beautiful and moody and very very aesthetic, even when some seriously weird shit is going down. It's very much the sort of show that has a ton of plot holes and things that don't fit at all--Why is Hannibal's office the size of my entire apartment building? How is everyone always getting from Baltimore to DC that fast? How does Hannibal find the time for all this murder AND throwing dinner parties AND taking all those suits to the dry cleaners? Does he sleep?--but it's so moody and bizarre and fun that I don't really care about plot holes.
If you don't mind some gore, some scary stuff, and some EXTREMELY morally gray characters, give it a shot! But the title character is a cannibalistic serial murderer, so, prepare yourself.
Peanut M&Ms
They're the best kind. Fight me.
Cosmic Crisp Imperial Apple Cider
I have no idea if you can get this anywhere but the west coast, but this is VERY GOOD if you like hard apple cider at all! It's also VERY ALCOHOLIC, so please plan accordingly.
That's all for this month! If you want more frequent updates, or just want to know what I think about the state of the world, you can follow me on Instagram (@roxie_noir) or Twitter (@roxienoir).
Love,
Roxie
