Graduation ceremonies at ADPP Polytechnic Schools |

|
In November, 418 students completed their training and graduated from the ADPP Polytechnic Schools in Benguela, Huambo, Cabinda, Cuanza Norte, Caxito, Zango, Ramiros, and Cazenga. 41% of the graduates were female. Congratulations to all graduates and good luck for the future!

|
Travel to learn and learn to travel 2024 |
|
|
|
The students of Team 2023 at Teacher Training School ADPP Cuanza Sul in Quibala successfully completed their study trip, carried out under the motto "Travel to learn and learn to travel." Their journey lasted eight weeks, covering three provinces – Cuanza Sul, Huambo and Bié – and more than 10 municipalities, during which the 62 students and four teachers explored the reality of the country and rural areas. Upon their return, Team 2023 was received by local authorities and family members, in a ceremony where they shared the learning acquired about the geography, history and ways of life of the communities visited.

Angola wins the Africa STEM Challenge Prize |
|
|
|
A group of four students from the Telecommunications Institute (ITEL) recently won first place in the regional Africa STEM competition, organized by Junior Achievement with funding from the ExxonMobil Foundation, and implemented by ADPP Angola. The students received this distinction during the African Energy Week awards ceremony, which took place in Cape Town, South Africa. The innovative project, “Water Treatment and Supply System for Needy Communities,” uses renewable energy to sustainably provide drinking water to communities. HIV/AIDS and TB Community Project - Mobilization and Awareness |

|
As part of the HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB) Community Project in the province of Cuanza Sul, financed by GC7/UNDP, various activities were carried out to raise awareness among communities about the importance of adhering to testing services, knowing the serological status, and preventing these diseases. The actions included mass testing campaigns, distribution of prevention materials such as condoms and lubricants, Self Help meetings, and the importance of adhering to TB services.

Continuous training of Community Health Agents
Community Health Agents in the HIV/AIDS and TB community project benefited from continuous training, in coordination with Project Leaders, during sessions to plan the goals for the last quarter of 2024 in the 12 municipalities of Benguela, Cuanza Sul and Bié covered by the project. Training was also carried out on the Community Information System (community SIS), for Field Officers, Monitoring and Evaluation Assistants, and Supervisors, reinforcing the technical skills of the teams and the effectiveness of interventions in the communities.

Soyo celebrates SADC Malaria Week |
|
|
|
As part of SADC Malaria Week and under the slogan "Every Family Free from Malaria," awareness campaigns were carried out to increase awareness of malaria prevention and encourage participation in malaria control programs. The initiative, part of the Combat Malaria, HIV/AIDS and TB Project, financed by Angola LNG, involved community agents giving talks in schools and communities on prevention measures, and on signs and symptoms of malaria, plus demonstrations of the correct use of mosquito nets. During the week, 236 members of the community and pupils were mobilised in the districts of Fina, Mbumdila, and Paróquia and at School No. 8.

ADPP and Carrinho Agri sign a protocol within the framework of Family Farming |
|
|
|
ADPP Angola established a strategic partnership with Carrinho Agri to strengthen family farming and benefit more than 20 thousand women farmers in several provinces.The partnership is related to the ADPP project “Support for Rural Women Farmers in Angola,” financed by USAID, ExxonMobil, AZULE Energy, and Grupo Simples Oil, which aims to promote equity and equality for women in Angola, through a series of interconnected activities, such as citizenship, land rights and literacy. Tree Planting Campaign in Cuangar |

|
As part of the Green Schools Program, the ADSWAC project promoted a tree planting campaign at Kambumbu School, in the municipality of Cuangar. The activity involved the school director, teachers, and pupils. The campaign highlighted the importance of caring for trees and encouraging the creation of nurseries as a commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation.

Second Forestry Event in Huambo |

|
|
In November, the Second Forestry Event was held in Chipipa commune, Huambo municipality, bringing together participants interested in forest conservation and sustainable environmental practices. The Forest Protection Project, funded by USDA and implemented in Huambo, Huíla, and Cuando Cubango, promotes the preservation, restoration, and sustainable use of forests, essential for biodiversity, climate balance and the livelihood of communities. Community in Action for Peace and Inclusion Project (CAPI) Strengthens Citizenship in Cubal and Ganda |
|
|
|
In the Sagrada Família community, in Cubal Municipality, 30 birth certificates were delivered to parents and guardians, ensuring that children aged 0 to 13 can exercise their right to civil registration. This is an initiative of the CAPI project, funded by USAID. Simultaneously, in the Municipality of Ganda, 59 young people and adults benefited from support for applying for and receiving their Identity Cards. This action is not only raising awareness among communities about the relevance of personal documentation, but also promoting social inclusion and full citizenship.

Handing Over of Rehabilitated Wells in Ombandja |
|
|
|
In November, two rehabilitated wells were handed over to the communities of Mumbonde and Okapika, Naulila commune, Ombandja municipality, as part of the FRESAN program. The ceremony was attended by the Municipal Administrator, the Deputy Municipal Administrator, and several representatives from the departments of energy, agriculture, and social action, as well as from the communal administration. The wells will benefit more than 3,700 families and around 2,000 heads of cattle, in addition to supporting pastoral nomads in Namibia, located 2 km away.

Health Centre in Lola benefits from Solar Energy
The Lola Health Centre, in the municipality of Bibala, Namibe Province, 90 km from the municipal capital, now has solar energy, allowing an improvement of services. Patients can be seen after dark, medicines can be stored in safe conditions, and there have been significant improvements in staff working conditions and patient care. The initiative is part of the Integrated Community Project, financed by Azule Energy, which reinforces quality healthcare in the most remote communities.
