My apologies for the radio silence in last week's newsletter. It's been a taxing period here at our beloved farm. Just when I thought I'd seen the last of shingles, it resurfaced, then Joe fell ill, and now, unfortunately, I've been under the weather. Our lack of appetite has left us with less energy than usual, which has added an extra layer of difficulty to our regular farm duties. As of late, the lion's share of tasks have been shouldered by Joe, as I find myself mostly confined to sitting and observing our slice of rural life from the sidelines.
For those unaware, I live with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and grapple with several of its associated conditions, such as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, asthma, mast cell activation disorder, and gastroparesis. This flu-like ailment seems to have taken quite a toll on me due to these underlying conditions.
I typically aim to fill these newsletters with uplifting news and whimsical tales from our farm, but this time, I felt the need to be candid about our present circumstances. This open sharing is not only to maintain the authenticity of our communication but also to request your invaluable prayers for our well-being.
Transitioning to brighter pastures...
We have a joyous update regarding our little chick that had been struggling. She has recuperated enough to join her fellow feathered friends in the coop and seems to be doing splendidly.
And in another delightful development, our diligent turkey mom has hatched her brood. We now have a troupe of adorable turkey poults toddling around the pastures, their tiny fluffy bodies bringing an added dose of charm to our daily lives.
