EcoVisio in action: August 2024

Hello EcoVisio community!

In August some of the team enjoyed their vacation, another - still organized workshops, trainings (regional and international), Keep Cool games for all those people keen on learning, even in the warmer months of the year. We would like to tell you about these activities, but also to invite you to the main EcoVisio branded event - IarmarEco 2024.

We are preparing intensively for the iarmaroc, because very soon, for the 12th time, the community of responsible entrepreneurs and consumers will meet in Chisinau, Valea Trandafirilor Park (entrance from Decebal Boulevard), 11:00 - 18:00. Workshop for mayors on composting

On August 1, in Olișcani village, Soldănești district, the mayors of RMD 5,8 and 1 met at a workshop dedicated to composting. The mayors and representatives of local public authorities learned about the benefits of composting and existing methods from the expert Alexei Micu - agricultural producer, founder of ebio.md. Community compost workshop

On August 3, at the compost workshop we visited Mr. Iurie Dnestreanschii. For 7 years he composts leaves from kitchen scraps. The resulting compost is rich in nutrients and beneficial organisms such as fungal mycelium. Thanks to it, the plants are vigorous and full of fruit. Read more about Mr. Iurie's technique here.

The community of Volintiri - a model of sustainable development!

Over the course of this year, the village of Volintiri has undergone numerous changes to improve energy efficiency, reduce pollution and increase the resilience of the village to climate change. These changes include the installation of the biomass boiler at the kindergarten, the thermal audit, the opening of the community composting compost and training on waste management and environmental protection. August Keep Cool at the office

In August we organized several Keep Cool games in the EcoVisio office. We enjoyed bringing together diverse people of all ages and backgrounds. Even though some players had met before, the session went differently - the game mimics how climate change affects the likelihood of climate catastrophes. So dice and people are 2 factors that change the flow of the game each time. Keep following the EcoVisio page for other opportunities to play Keep Cool. EcoVisio Facilitators Community

EcoVisio is not just about the staff team, but also about a community of facilitators and trainers. Life long learning - is a competence we try to cultivate in EcoVisio. We have a group of trainers and facilitators with whom together we grow through horizontal learning: we meet and analyze case studies, reflect on the trainings we have been involved in where there is a lot of potential for learning, and together we come to answers, conclusions and lessons. The first social trademark in Moldova

Do you know how to recognize the products and services of social entrepreneurs? Together with partners we have developed the first Social Entrepreneurs social brand. SDG Media Camp in Germany

Previously we told you about the SDG Media Camp project, where we brought together 21 journalists from 6 countries to help them tackle environmental and sustainable development issues. They visited Moldova in June, and now they are off on a new journey. From August 11-17, the participants traveled to Eberswalde in Germany. The journalists had an intense program with time for research, interviews and exchange of ideas. Read about the topics covered and their experience here.
