So happy to welcome Spring to my part of the world & ready for some fun!
As always, hoping that this message finds you happy and healthy, with a little bit of prosperity tossed in there for good measure! I am so ready for some good stuff, how about you?
My office remodel is on full steam ahead, and carpet installation will be taking place in mid-May. What that means is the stuff in the closet that I didn't want to show you in my TikTok video will all need to be pulled out and stacked in the Living Room temporarily. Yikes... it is going to be a stress-filled few weeks, but the end result will be so worth it! Updated TikToks to follow!
Athena's story is officially "unblocked" and I am pretty sure I know where I am heading with it. It has been a challenging few months with my Muse, but she and I have finally come to an understanding, lol. I will be excited to get the first draft done so I can work on getting back into my Paranormal Mystery series which has been on the back burner while I query. I am sending it out to a few more leads in the next month, and also pitching at a live event, so fingers crossed I can find a home for it in the Traditional book-buying world!
In-person events are revving back up, and I am thrilled to be heading to Chicago, IL at the end of this month! The Spring Fling Event is a writing conference and not only will I be able to hear presentations from a list of gifted writers, but I will also be attending with amazing writers from my local writing group! Conferences are always a sure-fire way to get the inspiration flowing, so I plan to squeeze in some writing as well. If you are in the area and would like to come to say hello, there will be a book signing open to the public I will link to below.
Now that the weather is nicer, I do have some plans to overhaul my gardens and thin out some perennials that have overstayed their welcome. My cue that winter is over is the fight over housing that takes place near my driveway. Currently, the wrens and the bluebirds are tussling over a decorative birdhouse on a shovel that was never intended to raise families. Since they insist on nesting there, we beefed up the birdhouse last year, and it is fun to see who wins out in the bidding war. It is hilarious watching one family put a stick in there, and the other family flying in and taking the stick out. Last I looked, the wren was puffed up on the front porch daring the bluebird to make his move. I am totally rooting for the bluebird, but that wren looks like he may have spent the winter working out. Will have to keep you posted. In the meantime, happy reading and stay safe!
