A few weeks ago, we presented the criteria for the anticipated regional adjustments on NomadMania. Today, we are sharing the Optimal Scores for Regions by Country.

Drawing on the criteria and their respective weightings, as determined by our Executive Committee, we have arrived at some fascinating conclusions.

Some of the world’s largest countries — including Russia, the United States, Brazil, Argentina and Kazakhstan — are not eligible for additional regions. In fact, Russia currently has more than twice the number of regions compared with the ‘optimal’.

However, in some other cases we may see new regions emerge soon, depending on the outcome of the forthcoming community vote.

NomadMania is looking for a UN Master Expert

NomadMania is seeking a member of the community for the volunteer position of UN Master expert. Ideally, you are an avid follower of social media, use portals like EPS and appreciate being a member of the broader community while also wanting to curate our immaculate UN Master List with up-to-date information.

This is a volunteer position but will come with some great perks! Please write to our founder Harry (harry@nomadmania.com), who has been responsible for this aspect of NomadMania since we started and who will be giving all training necessary for the UN Master Expert to take over this task. 

[TOUR] Burundi, Rwanda & Uganda

This 10-day trip through Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda focuses on two of the most remarkable wildlife experiences in East Africa: a full-day safari in Akagera National Park and a guided gorilla trek in Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

These are not ordinary sightseeing stops — Akagera offers a rare chance to see animals like lions, giraffes, and hippos in a landscape that combines savannah, lakes, and wetlands, while Mgahinga provides the opportunity to track one of the few remaining mountain gorilla families in the world.

The rest of the itinerary includes visits to lesser-known areas across six NomadMania regions and four NomadMania DARE regions. In Burundi, we explore historical palaces, vibrant local markets, and the iconic drumming sanctuary of Gitega.

In Rwanda, the route includes lakeside villages and a boat trip to the isolated Nkombo Island. The trip ends in Kigali after a scenic drive through western Rwanda. Transport is by private vehicle throughout, with overnight stays in comfortable, well-located hotels and lodges.

This trip was a smash-hit last January; this one will be even better!
