Art Without the Crowds

March, in Provence, is a bit of a tease – it's almost spring, but not quite. The carnivals in Nice and Menton are over for the year (cancelled due to Coronavirus). The mimosas are still blooming on the coast, the sun is bright, but the wind can be fierce. It's a great month to explore the region before the tourist crowds arrive.

Take advantage of a "slower" time of the year to visit the museums and art galleries in the region. Before the big crowds arrive, visit the new multimedia show at Carrières de Lumières, in Les Baux de Provence. The surrealist works of Salvador Dali and Antonio Gaudi will appear on the quarry walls this year. The program runs through to January 3, 2021. Buy your tickets online to save time.
