Sometimes authors are asked if we can write what's called an author blurb or endorsement.
I was privileged to do that for two very different books, which both just released (for one, my quote is even right there on the cover!).
The Island Sisters by Micki Bertholet Morency.
If you're a fan of friendship stories or the movie Steel Magnolias, this is a novel that in my review I called emotional, thought-provoking, poignant, and a tribute to friendship, and women’s strength to overcome.
A story about four women from Haiti, St. Thomas, and Guam whose fates are bound together by culture, history, and most importantly, by a deep and irrevocable friendship. Read my full review on BookBub.
One Tough Cookie by Delise Torres
This novel is described by its publisher and the author as a “Latina Fleabag”, which is cute and captures it well. Original, witty and entertaining with strong romcom vibes, One Tough Cookie explores what happens when we let the hard external layer protecting us crumble just a little.
Set in the locale of a cookie factory, full of workers of Puerto Rican heritage with lots of descriptions of yummy Puerto Rican food, it's also catnip for foodies. Read my full review on BookBub.
And now the giveaway in 2 Parts!
1. As you can see above, BookBub is where I post my best book reviews, and there are advantages for an author if we have over 1,000 followers (I currently have 904 followers!).

For Writers (you can ignore this section otherwise!)
I've been working on the idea for a group mastermind program, now called 12 Weeks to Book Launch Success, which helps new authors create a plan to successfully launch their book.
The founder’s edition of the program starts on August 15th, and is limited to ten participants.
This week I had my own little Taylor Swift moment. I shared with the wait list on Monday and all ten spots were filled by Friday!
I'm super excited because I believe this says what I've created is valuable to other writers.
If you'd still like to see the details, just respond with "Send me deets".
I likely won't have space this time around (unless anyone drops out), but just below is a link to add your name to the wait list for next time registration opens (that way you'll hear first!).
Also, if you're interested in cool book marketing resources (many free) please click the second link below.

But what if you don't yet have a completed book?
You may be interested in a small group novel writing program. Check out the mentorship program below from someone I trust. Nicole Meier is offering an excellent six-month, small group program.
Travel Update
As you can perhaps tell, being stable in Vietnam has been fabulous, and I've been super productive. But Hubby and I have also made time for fun.
We made a visa run to Thailand so we could stay a second month in the same spot in Hoi An (leading to a fun week of work in Chiang Mai).
On the way back, we spent four days in Northern Vietnam, split between Ha Noi and seeing Ha Long Bay.
A few quick TikTok videos that will give you a taste of the last month:
Welcome to Hoi An, Vietnam!
Our nomad life in Vietnam (and a very cool rice paddy cafe)
A very special moment in Sai Gon (with a favorite author friend!)
5 fun nights in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Cruising Ha Long Bay (drone footage!)
Da Nang Fireworks festival
And that's all for this month, my friends (sorry for the long email!).
In gratitude,
Lainey
