Well, it's been a month. How could summer be almost over already? Looking back, it feels like it's only just begun! School starts back up in two days, so I'm definitely looking forward to having the distraction-free time to write. The kids are certainly excited (and nervous), but this mama is just excited. 

Writing update: If you've been on my Facebook or Instagram ecently, you'll have seen that I'm currently writing Dolly's journey! I've gotten the first three chapters written. The new (tentative) finish date is the beginning of October, so we shall see, I suppose. 

Personal life updates: I have to go get the car inspected so I can renew its registration, and I have to go to the DMV to get my license switched over (after 5 years, I'm finally changing it to the proper state). None of this sounds fun. At all. Send the best positive vibes you can, because this is not something I'm looking forward to doing. 

I think I'll sign off now and send this a bit early. I have an eight year old who has copious amounts of birthday cake to eat, and I want a slice or two of that! 

This week's Music Corner is Requiem by Laura Dreyfuss, Michael Park, & Jennifer Laura Thompson. It's such a heartbreaking, relatable song. There is at least one person in your life that you don't care for but everyone thinks is amazing. The loss of said person may destroy someone else's life while you're left questioning why you don't mourn them. It doesn't make you a monster, and this song really shows that side of humanity well.
