WELCOME TO DELAMOUR CONTEMPORARY ART
Spring 2024, Delamour Contemporary Art opens in the heart of the artistic district, the 6th arrondissement of Paris, niched in the same courtyard that hosted the famed Jeanne Bucher gallery for decades. A place that has always been vibrant and a bit out of sight, like a well-kept secret that is once again ready to welcome art lovers.
Issued from a partnership with the New York gallery Michele Mariaud founded in 2004, the Gallery offers a solid selection of contemporary artists, French or international, emerging or with already firmly established careers. Their common points: a strong and unique particularity in their artistic approach, always a source of emotion for the viewer, as well as a total commitment to their work that immediately shows, whatever the medium used (sculpture, painting, drawings, photos, etc.).
By keeping the number of represented artists limited, by working hand in hand with them, without any ambition other than to share their journey and their achievements, we wish to become the link between their artistic expression and collectors, whether private or public, novice or experienced.
Finally, our project creates community to exchange and stimulate interconnections and collaborations, share our coup de coeur by inviting external talents, and thus support all of our artists for the best: making art accessible in every sense of the word.

Pascal Piermé (b. 1962) grew up in Saint-Raphaël, France.
After an academic focus in art, he gained a reputation in Europe as a promising young sculptor. He had several solo exhibitions in France and Switzerland, and worked on collaborative projects alongside creative giants such as Pierre Cardin.
Piermé cites his grandfather as an early inspiration. In Piermé’s earliest memories, he was fascinated by what his creative grandfather could do with a simple piece of wood. In a few hours or days he would witness what a plain cut of wood would become by way of his grandfather’s hands. “The idea to be 100% responsible for creating something from A to Z amazed me,” Piermé recalls. “The scent of his studio was also a big attraction. The fragrance of multiple woods combined with turpentine and linseed oil created a magical space.”
Early on, he tested himself as he explored his own viability in creating art full-time. The answer came in 1988 after he had given himself one year to become a working artist. Within six months he was well on his way. Piermé elaborates, “In a way, my career has happened in reverse. In the beginning of my career, choosing to be a sculptor and becoming a young father happened simultaneously. Being responsible as a father created an immediate focus and seriousness about my career. In a way, my daughter pushed me to be more professional.”
By 1997, Piermé moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. He settled in a home/studio atop a mountain reminiscent of those in the south of France. The magical landscapes of New Mexico were life changing for him. His work is inspired by all things organic - colors, textures and natural settings – and the open, untouched, raw, brutal and simultaneously soft geographical environment was humbling, as well as stimulating.
He focused on working with wood, with its ability to reflect “the tension between the masculine and feminine, the solid and the sensuous.” He feels one of its advantages is its fluidity in appearance accompanied by retention in strength. He finds mahogany particularly useful, both for the subtlety of the grain, which supports other design elements, and for the size of solid pieces that are obtainable. Piermé also respects wood’s obstinate quality, noting that "allowing the medium to take some initiative" can actually bring about positive creative results.
Piermé has become known as a master of the medium. Now, more than a quarter-century later, his career has blossomed in America. Through maturity in his work, he has been able to take more risks and evolve. Critics, curators, collectors and artists alike admire his ongoing bodies of work.

However, if asked what he values in art, he will reply, “THE IDEA. That is it.” For Piermé his work is less about the answer and more about the process of discovery subsequent to the posing of the question itself. He often quotes his fellow countryman Francois Mitterrand who once said, “I love the person who is searching, yet I am afraid of the one who thinks he has found the answer.” Each piece Piermé creates is a study in contrast, replete with meaning, void of conclusion. By eliminating the requirement for proclamation or answers, he is free to create sculpture that embodies juxtaposition without sacrificing congruence. In this relationship between the similar and dissimilar is found the essence of Piermé’s art: in illusion there exists honesty, in divergence there exists harmony, in abstraction there exists realism, in complexity there exists simplicity. To Piermé these ideas do not need explanation, but exploration.
Piermé’s work has been included in 80+ solo, museum and international exhibitions out of the 120+ exhibitions outlined on his résumé. Included are: Chinese European Art Center, Xiamen, China; Palm Springs Museum of Art, Palm Springs, California; Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix, Arizona; Georgia O'Keeffe Museum Annex, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Governor’s Gallery, Santa Fe State Capital Building, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Taos Museum of Art, Taos, New Mexico; French Consulate, New York, New York; Albuquerque Museum, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Ube Center of Art, Ube, Japan.
Origines + Life is a 224 page monograph on Piermé’s work with essays by journalist Hollis Walker and art historian Robin Clark, published in 2023 by GF Contemporary, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Fresco Fine Art Books has highlighted Piermé ’s work in their New Mexico Millenium
and Abstract Art publications. Countless magazines have featured his sculpture, including Magazine 43, Berlin, Manila, Hong Kong; LandEscape Art Review, London and New York; Western Art and Architecture;

In addition, Piermé has found charitable endeavors an important facet in his artistic career. He has worked as an organizer and benefactor for several organizations relating to the promotion of the arts: The Santa Fe Artist’s Emergency Medical Fund; National Dance Institute; Art in Schools; Taos Museum of Art; Aid and Comfort; The Cancer Foundation for New Mexico; and The Horse Power Project, among others.
His is currently represented by five galleries across the United States.
