My apologies that it has been nearly three months since the last newsletter but we’ve been working flat out on so many fronts to help keep the show very much on track.
I’ve never known such a challenging and ever-changing situation in the 45 years I’ve been doing this lark. Still great fun and, more often than not, spur of the moment decisions. We’re as busy as ever with a fabulous mix of both loyal and new customers, a broader band of much celebrated and caring staff plus, at long last, a full review of our fayre before menu fatigue creeps in prompting customers to check out other places and possibly change their loyalties.
Much of the media mayhem dished up daily has frankly helped our cause. Fundamentally we’re seen as a safe and sane haven away from all the terror, turmoil and tedium out there. Stay local and enjoy, whatever the occasion, with friends and family, as we see fit and proper.
We’re not immune from being landed with opportunistic lumps and jumps in pricing, along with all the well publicised toxic mix of wage and fuel inflation, let alone helping replenishing Rishi’s reserves - so we look forward to him levelling up restaurants and pubs with the supermarkets at 0% VAT instead of 20% on our food sales.
Father’s Day on Sunday 19th June is pretty much fully booked at the peak times and, in keeping with our latest reservation policy, space for the larger tables, especially from non Club Bartellas members, is extremely limited.
So plenty of new dishes on the new menu to tempt and for you to taste - it’s all up on the website and, as always, your comments are most welcome as we continue to review and refine our offering and standards.
The return therefore of the complimentary bottle of wine for Club Bartellas member up to the value of £35 when dining with us - usual t’s & c’s please of one bottle per duration of the offer, valid until Sunday 10th July.
Loads of blue skies out there to savour too so hopefully catch you very soon.
As ever,
Ian
