Stewardship Ingathering

This Sunday, November 3, will be the ingathering for our Estimate of Giving Cards. You should have received one with your stewardship letter  several days ago. If not, or if you need another, they are available in the church office. Please bring your completed card when you come forward for communion, and you may lay it on the altar at that time.

Thank you for your commitment to Jacksonville First United Methodist Church!

SERVING IN WORSHIP
MISSIONS OUTREACH!

Do you have a heart for mission? Are you interested in the missions of JFUMC? Do you have a non-profit or mission organization that you work with or help support? Is your heart being tugged to lead a mission team? Are you interested in a volunteer in mission trip? Do you have a mission project you would love to see happen?

Your JFUMC mission committee would like to hear from you. You are invited to share with us and be a part of this important committee working in the life of the church.

The list below shows some of the mission groups and agencies that JFUMC supports throughout the year. The funds you designate to missions are used to help support these areas of ministry in and around our community and the world. Many servant hands of JFUMC are involved in one or more of these mission opportunities.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Christmas Play Needs Christmas Trees!

Please be on the lookout for Christmas trees of ALL shapes and sizes; we will need LOTS of trees for this year's play!

They don't have to be purchased new, (unless you would like to donate them) but if you bring one to loan us, please make sure that your name is on it, and we will return it to you ASAP afterwards.

(NOTE: 3 foot minimum size)

As always, thank you so much for contributing to Children's Ministries!

Community Thanksgiving Meal 2019

Our church will, for the 5th year, co-sponsor a lunchtime Thanksgiving meal for the Jacksonville community. We will team with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. We will probably deliver around 300 meals and serve about 150 meals at St. Luke’s. To do this we need your help.

We need:

· Monetary donations which will pay for our portion of the food supplies needed. Checks can be made payable to JFUMC, and in the memo line write Thanksgiving Meal.

· Cooked and deboned roasted turkeys delivered to St. Luke’s. (call St. Luke’s to sign up.)

· Cakes & pies delivered to St. Luke’s, sliced and ready to serve.

· Volunteers: Servers, meal delivery, greeters, and clean up. (Call St. Luke’s to sign up.)

St. Luke’s: open 9 am - 2 pm, Monday-Thursday:

256-435-9271

For more information, please call Jim Lloyd at 256-452-4773.
