Third Thursday Hosts Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration

The community is invited to join in a powerful celebration of freedom and unity at the Juneteenth Jubilee on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:00–9:00 PM along State Street in uptown Kennett Square. This uplifting event coincides with Third Thursday, a beloved monthly tradition hosted by Kennett Collaborative, where State Street is transformed into a vibrant pedestrian hub filled with dining in the streets, live music, and community spirit.

The Juneteenth Jubilee honors the historical significance of June 19, 1865—the day when the last enslaved African Americans in the U.S. finally learned of their freedom—and celebrates Black culture, resilience, and achievement through a dynamic and inclusive program.

Local organizations joined forces to plan this year’s Juneteenth Jubilee in Kennett, including members from Kennett Heritage Center, Kennett Underground Railroad Center, Kennett Flash, Kennett Area Community Services, Kennett Library, New Garden UAME Church, Martin Luther King Community of Greater Kennett Area, Kennett Area Park Authority, and Kennett Collaborative.

This Friday, June 13, is Kennett High School’s graduation, and the market will have early + reduced hours to make way for graduates, staff, and families to park for the ceremony that evening. Congratulations to the Class of 2025! 💙

Free Wednesday Concerts in the Park are back!

Join us at 6:30 pm on Weds, June 18th in Anson B. Nixon Park for a FREE performance by Philly favorite Sug Daniels.

The Stand food truck will be open along with an ice cream truck, plus beer & wine vendors to serve hot food, sweet treats, and cold drinks beginning at 6 pm. The Kennett Area Park Authority will be joined under Pavilion 1 by Voices Underground and the Brandywine YMCA.

Mark Bowden will explore with Bruce Mowday the inspiration behind his long list of books on local history.

Pooch Parade- Dog Days of Summer

June 27th at 5:00 pm

Join Action Potential Physical Therapy in their Annual Pooch Parade- Dog Days of Summer. Grab your furry friends, dress them up for summer, and come out for a fun-filled afternoon. Prize for best dressed pooch, hair bows for pups provided by Studio di Rosci, giveaways, photo booth, snacks, BYOB, music and more! We will also be accepting donations to benefit Rags to Riches Animal Rescue.
