Good morning,

The 40 days of Lent are a good opportunity to dig into the teachings of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount. We can see his vision for the kingdom and are empowered to be formed more fully into his image.

Week 4 Seek the Kingdom & Righteousness

• Read ~ Matthew 6 & 1 Timothy 6
• Reflect ~ How do I put faith in money? How often do I worry about my own resources? Realistically, where does God's kingdom fit into my everyday thoughts and priorities? 
• Practice ~ Consider a 'no-spend' day or weekend. Take what you normally would have spent and give it to someone in need or somewhere that you see God's kingdom at work. Set aside some time to think through what God is doing in your life and in the world. Let that awareness guide a next step, no matter how small, for prioritizing serving God.
• Prayer ~ God our King, your kingdom’s reach is everywhere around us. In sharing what we have, in noticing where you are at work, and in the ways your people provide for each other. Make me an instrument of holy desire,
  rather than grasping, let me release; rather than craving prosperity, let me look for His daily bread; where material things call out my name, let my ears be attuned to You. Help me to seek you and your righteousness. May your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth, just like in heaven.
