Mikimoto Akoya Cultured Pearls
In 1893, Mikimoto's founder Kokichi Mikimoto successfully created the world's first cultured pearls. Ever since then, Mikimoto has been seeking to harness the allure of pearls, translating hopes and dreams into pearl necklaces for over 130 years.
The quality of a pearl is determined by several criteria, including its size, shape, colour, and lustre. An important factor to look out for is the thickness of the nacre as this determines the pearl's lustre. Only the Akoya cultured pearls with the highest quality and lustre can be bestowed with the name “Mikimoto Pearl.”
Akoya cultured pearls are the speciality of Japan's pearl farms. Pearls from Akoya oysters are widely admired for their air of elegance and beautiful lustre and are the most popular pearl on the market. They are mostly sized from 3mm to 8mm, and seldom larger than 9mm.

Players
Players is the latest project from Carine Roitfeld, the former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris and publisher of CR Fashion Book. With Roitfeld’s son Vladimir installed as editor-in-chief, this chunky and imposing magazine sets out to explore the intersection of fashion and sport – something that has existed for decades – and arguably legitimises a long association between the two. Each issue will focus on a specific sport, with this first issue looking at basketball. It’s guest edited by former NBA star and owner of the Utah Jazz, Dwayne Wade, who brings on board legendary sports photographer Walter Iooss Jr, superfan Georgio Armani, WNBA stars Sabrian Ioenscu, Breanna Stewart, Cameron Brink and many others.

Grace Pervades starring Ralph Fiennes at Theatre Royal Bath
"Raison (as Terry) and Fiennes (Irving) create an almost supernatural force of connection that goes beyond mere ‘did they or didn’t they?’ tittle-tattle, with Fiennes allowing Irving to slowly but surely reveal the motivation, empathy and emotion beneath his ostensibly awkward, buttoned-up cloak of self-protection, and Raison exuding the vigour, verve and vivacity that allowed Terry to turn adversity into triumph throughout her life."
At Theatre Royal Bath until 19 July

Award-winning housebuilder City & Country is hosting a preview of the forthcoming apartments which will form part of the exciting new development at the former Pitman Press site on Lower Bristol Road.
Once complete, Bath Press will offer a selection of craft-built apartments and townhouses, with the first one, two and three-bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom town houses now available to purchase. The first phase will comprise 146 new homes designed to reflect the wider site’s industrial heritage, all set around
beautifully landscaped courtyards.
Bath Press was formerly home to the Pitman Press printing works led by Sir Isaac Pitman, the creator of the most used shorthand system, Pitman shorthand. The careful redevelopment of the site includes the preservation of part of the former print work’s Classical and Art Deco façade, and modern retail spaces will occupy the ground floor of the building facing Lower Bristol Road.
This new collection of new-build homes has been designed to a luxury specification to reflect Bath’s existing beautiful Georgian buildings. The elegant open plan layout ensures plenty of natural light, and versatile spaces for socialising. Crafted for effortless modern living, the kitchen and dining areas feature the classic shaker style units and stylish gold and natural stone worktops. Prices currently start from £925,000 for a four-bedroom townhouse at Bath Press.
