Bristol BID launches Love Bristol, Love Broadmead with Spring Clean and programme of events to celebrate the heart of the city
Volunteers invited to join the Big Broadmead Spring Clean from 23-29 March as part of a new programme of events celebrating and showing love to the city centre.
Bristol’s city centre is set for a fresh new chapter as Bristol Business Improvement District (BID) launches Love Bristol, Love Broadmead, a programme designed to celebrate the city, revitalise the streets and bring people together in one of the city’s most visited neighbourhoods.
At the heart of the programme is a simple idea: Broadmead is a place used by thousands of people every day, from families and workers to visitors of all ages, and the city centre thrives when people feel proud of the places they share.Throughout spring and summer, Broadmead will host a series of free activities and events designed to encourage people to spend time in the area, discover new experiences and see the neighbourhood in a new light.
Volunteers, businesses and community groups interested in taking part in the Big Broadmead Spring Clean can find out more and sign up here: bristolbid.co.uk/events/big-broadmead-spring-clean.
More information about Love Bristol, Love Broadmead, including all upcoming events, can be found here: bristolbid.co.uk/projects/love-bristol-love-broadmead

Hot Smoked Salmon Salad with beetroot, asparagus and soft-boiled eggs
This recipe is the perfect gateway to salad season, combining the pick of the seasonal crop (beetroot; asparagus) with creamy soft-boiled eggs and flakes of luxurious, buttery hot smoked salmon.
You can of course substitute the raw beetroot with the vacuum-packed or jarred variety, but roasting the new season’s crop results in a different experience altogether: rich, sweet and earthy with a smooth, soft texture.

New Magazine
Our April Edition is out next week!
Water is at the heart of Bristol, so it’s no surprise this issue dives into both its beauty and its protection. From the striking ocean imagery on our cover, featured in the Ocean Photographer of the Year exhibition at SS Great Britain, to the stories beneath the surface, there’s plenty to explore. We also meet local mermaid Hannah Fairhall, whose Mrs Ocean World UK title champions marine conservation over looks. Beyond the water, creative spaces face challenges, with Doug Francisco of Invisible Circus shedding light on what’s next for the troupe now they’ve found a new residency at Prospect after losing their former home. And to top it off, a spring-ready wedding special brings style, trends and inspiration.

Now Voyager
Now Voyager is an ambitious, intellectually-inclined bi-monthly magazine launched simultaneously in the US and the UK this month. While it’s edited primarily in New York it aims to offer long-form writing and reporting about what is going on all around the world. Nominally a travel magazine, Now Voyager doesn’t want to be pigeonholed, locating its specific geography ‘somewhere between a foreign desk briefing, a literary review, and a cultural notebook.’ It has dedicated sections for photography, art, music, food and humour, all curated and calibrated in the belief that there is an audience for ‘foreign reporting that does not condescend, for cultural criticism that takes big ideas seriously, and for a publication that treats its readers as capable of holding multiple ideas in their heads at once’.

Bristol's Mollie Pearce, star of The Traitors and The Vamps' Connor Ball to complete 5 Marathons in 5 Days
Mollie Pearce (The Traitors S2 Finalist) and Connor Ball (The Vamps) are undertaking an extraordinary challenge for Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
From 30th March to 3rd April 2026, they will complete 5 marathons in 5 days, covering 131 miles from Oxford to Leicester Square.
For Mollie, this is far more than an endurance event. Born with a visible limb difference and diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at 11, she underwent surgery to remove her colon and now lives with a stoma bag she affectionately calls “Sid”. She has become a visible advocate for disability confidence, body acceptance and challenging stigma - and this challenge represents the biggest physical test of her life.
Connor, widely known from The Vamps, will be beside her throughout. Their relationship began after meeting through Dancing on Ice, and the challenge explores partnership, support and shared resilience in a very real way.

Team news: Bristol Bears vs Harlequins, March 28
Bristol Bears welcome back a trio of internationals for Saturday’s showpiece Big Day Out clash with Harlequins at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium (3.30pm KO, live on TNT Sports).
Ellis Genge, Tom Jordan and Louis Rees-Zammit all return to the Bears starting line-up following the Guinness Six Nations, as Pat Lam’s men look to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat at Leicester Tigers in front of nearly 50,000 supporters in the Welsh capital.
Genge joins fellow Bristolian George Kloska and the in-form Gabriel Oghre in the front row, while Jordan partners Harry Randall at half back for the round 12 showdown.
Rees-Zammit is back on home soil and starts at full back, with Kalaveti Ravouvou and Academy wing Aidan Boshoff completing an electric back three. James Williams and Argentina international Matias Moroni start in midfield.
Another puma Santiago Grondona comes in at number eight in place of the injured Viliame Mata, with James Dun and Joe Owen continuing in the engine room.
Among the replacements is centurions Jake Woolmore, as well as Academy duo Tomas Gwilliam and George Taylor. Centre Benhard Janse van Rensburg and wing Gabriel Ibitoye are set to make an impact off the bench in Cardiff.
