Meanwhile, we support our Ukrainian friends as much as we can by highlighting some initiatives by our members that you may feel you want to contribute to.
Our very well-travelled member Katelyn Jarvis of Peace Stamps is helping take people from the Ukrainian border to wherever they want to go in Poland. By donating you help with her expenses in fuel and materials she needs to make the recently exiled feel comfortable.
Our member and friend Ann Sette recommends her friends who have started an initiative for a school for Ukrainian refugees in Gabrovo, Bulgaria. They already have the building but need to purchase equipment so that it becomes operational.
Artur Anuszewski is very important for the history of NomadMania, as he created the original list of 1221 regions back in 2011 before our project launched. He is now aiming to collect an amount for Ukrainian children. Anyone contributing at least 25 zlotys (about 5,4 EUR) is being given a photo album of Artur's (to be collected in Torun, Poland), so visit his page and be generous!!
Marta Trotsiuk, the wife of our friend Orest Zub from Lviv (with whom we had a special chat a couple of weeks ago!) is selling part of her art collection in an effort to promote Ukrainian culture which is currently suffering immensely. Have a look at Gallery 101!
Our member Kirill Prusov recommends Zeilen Van Vrijheid based in The Netherlands and Belgium who are providing ambulances and medical equipment for Ukrainian hospitals.
Please do not ignore these initiatives and do contribute if you can. it has always been NomadMania's goal to make travel as democratic as possible, but this supposes enough safety for travel to exist in the first place!
We will continue highlighting charity initiatives by our members so please do get in touch.
