Sensational Shanklin - our guide to places to stay and things to do

Shanklin is one of the premier resorts on the Island and offers everything from golden sandy beaches and picturesque coastline to pretty thatched cottages and clotted cream teas.

Situated in the lee of St Boniface Down from the prevailing south-westerly winds, Shanklin has welcomed visitors for generations.  To the south of the main town is the pretty and World Famous Old Village, steeped in smuggling history, delightful cottages and the amazing Chine, which was a commando training ground and an exit point for the PLUTO pipeline that supplied allied troops with fuel during The War.  Now it is the most beautiful, natural feature that attracts thousands of visitors a year.

The town itself offers a good cross section of shops and eateries as well as a spectrum of accommodation for all tastes, pockets and needs.

Take a look at what we can offer you on the Isle of Wight and remember that this is just a selection.   To see everything that we have to offer, please go to our website www.isleofwight.com.

We look forward to seeing you soon on the stunningly beautiful Isle of Wight.
