Would you like to be a 'Friend of Beamsley' ?
Dear friends at Yeadon, at the Beamsley Project, where we provide specialised holiday accommodation for people with disabilities and their families or carers, we are hoping to find a few extra ‘Friends of Beamsley.’
We are slowly dipping our toes in the water to welcome people back after the pandemic. The cottage is already taking visitors with families of up to 6 people. The centre itself might take just a little longer, as carers and young people in larger numbers come from several different households.
We have a small team of Friends who meet together at Christchurch about once every six week. As well as the social contact, they plan a few fund raising events during the year. Some are bakers and come up trumps for any coffee mornings, afternoon teas or other events. We have had for instance, concerts, sponsored events, a mad Hatter’s tea Party and a Beamsley Bake off, and perhaps you’ve been to one or two of these. The trustees at Beamsley are very much part of these preparations.
The funds raised by the Friends go specifically into a Benevolent Fund to enable any young person who needs the financial support to benefit from a holiday free of charge.
Might you consider being a Beamsley Friend? If you would like to know more, do please contact me. I would be delighted to hear from you.
All good wishes, Lynda Duttine. Tel 07930325508.
