The summertime is here! So, here's hoping for blue skies and warm weather wherever you find yourself this June. The picture above was taken over the weekend as we enjoyed a very nice Saturday afternoon stroll.
No video from me this time around, but in this issue we're introducing a new feature. From now on, we'll be inviting SEO and content experts to share an exclusive practical keyword research tip with you every issue.
First up is SEO consultant, Andrew Charlton - so go check his tip out below and give him some love on Twitter.
Another thing I'd love to do is feature some of the content you've written that is based on keywords we've shared in past issues. So hit reply, show me what you've created and we'll feature it in a future email.
Finally - I'm very pleased to announce that Converge is now a Media Partner for the fantastic Content Marketing World 2021 conference! Content Marketing World is the leading content marketing conference, regularly attracting thousands of attendees and some of the industry's best practitioners and speakers (more info on the conference in the email below).
This year you can either attend the conference in person or virtually and, if you use the code 'CONVERGE', you'll save $100 on your ticket!
Cool. Enjoy the issue and I'll see you again in July 👋
** If you're reading this becausesomeone forwarded the email to you, you can sign up to get it every month, for free, right here.**

The feature was introduced at the end of last year, but there's still limited resources and best practice content on how to use them.
I promise we're not making these up!

From fake websites to other parties using your brand's name to take advantage of your reputation, brand exploitation is a little-discussed topic we should all be bringing up more often.

Most companies don't know the ropes of properly paying contractors. Especially when it comes to those living abroad. This is your chance to shine some light on the potential risks and consequences.
The big trend for 2021 and the future. We reckon there'll be a content boom around this topic. Look also for long tail keyword options around this topic.

Andrew's Keyword Research Tip
The most useful keyword research tip I can give is to think less about keywords and more about keyword groupings.
Across every single project, I group all ranking keywords for a clients’ website (this could be +100k).
I use clustering tools that group keywords based on the similarity of their search results. This means that if keyword (a) has very similar search results to keyword (b), they’re grouped together automatically. This is the best way to group keywords as you’re grouping based on how Google understands the relatedness of keywords.
Why look at groups instead of keywords? Because it’s very likely if you increase rankings for one keyword within a group, the other keywords within the same group will improve too. That means while a keyword may have low search volume, aggregated at a group-level it could be much, much more. It’s a far better way of understanding opportunity.
