Emergency Funds from IIE

CIE is pleased to share that an emergency grant from the Institute of International Education (IIE) has just become available, but you must act quickly! The deadline to apply is today Wednesday, April 22nd. IIE is a not-for-profit international organization. The grant is specifically designed for international students who

are not able to return to their home countries over the summer break due to the COVID-19 pandemic and who demonstrate a high financial need to cover their living expenses through summer 2020.

CIE will review your responses and determine eligibility for a nomination. CIE may nominate no more than 5 students to be considered for support from IIE. Please understand that it is IIE, not CIE, who will evaluate nominations from colleges around the world to decide how to award grant funding.

To request a nomination from CIE for this emergency relief funding, completed this online request form via the ISS Portal by no later than *today* Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

Virtual Yoga Series

Tuesdays, April 28-May 26

6:00-7:00 pm

Join CIE’s Tammy Gibbs for some restorative yoga to help with the quarantine blues!

The class will help us release tension in the body and help us breathe. If you have them, please set up with a mat, blocks (or something similar- a book, water bottle, extra blankets), a bolster (or multiple blanks folded so you have a shape about 2.5 feet long by 1 foot wide by about 6-8 inches high), and a strap/ towel/ or belt. We may also use a chair or a wall (in many cases a couch will also work).

Register in advance for this class. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Remote Learning Tips

The sudden change in the structure to a remote format for your courses may present a new experience for you. You likely have questions and concerns if you have never learned remotely or online before.

Be patient with yourself, your classmates and your instructors during this time by offering grace and kindness as everyone moves through the process. Remember to take care of your own wellbeing first.

Planning your approach to your courses in a new remote format can help you feel more in control over your own responses to remote experiences and expectations throughout the semester.
